About

Jo Butcher fled -40 degree weather to work as a critical care nurse in the balmy wilds of South Florida. She’s a self-described research fiend who loves looking up everything from controlling bugs in her garden to the latest mindfulness technique. Jo’s love of thriller and suspense novels, her zest for back bowl skiing as well as her previous work in critical care has her wondering if she’s a bit of an excitement  junkie. She tempers that with a thirst for gardening, drawing, painting and scribbling out poetry for fun. Jo enjoys including medical detail in her stories and writing suspense with a spotlight on the health or malaise of mind, body and spirit.

Jo is a member of the Mystery Writers of America, and Sisters in Crime. She’s published nursing articles in SPECTRUM, a nursing journal, which offered her membership to the National League of American Penwomen. Twice a public speaking class drop out before her first speech, the Boca Raton Noon Toastmasters helped conquer her terror of public speaking. Her children graduated from the University of Florida leaving her a die-hard Gator fan. She lives in Lake Placid, Florida with her husband and an undocumented number of alligators.
